The Male vs. Female Perspective on Dating: Let's Talk!

Dating. It’s a journey full of excitement, confusion, laughter, and sometimes... frustration. Over a year ago, I polled a group of both men and women to get a deeper dive into their thoughts and experiences on dating in today’s world. I shared the results in The Male Perspective on Dating and The Female Perspective on Dating, and guess what? The conversations didn’t stop there. In fact, they’ve only gotten more interesting since!

After chatting with friends, reading through countless dating app profiles, and scrolling through endless posts about dating struggles, it seems like one thing is clear: dating can be tough — especially in the age of swipes and texts. The frustration many people feel comes from the disconnect between expectations and reality. And let’s be real — who hasn’t experienced that? Whether it's the "perfect" picture painted by social media or unrealistic assumptions about what relationships should be, it’s easy to feel like we’re missing the mark.

So, what can we do to bridge that gap? It all starts with understanding each other.

Today, I want to revisit this topic by sharing a new look at the differences between the male and female perspectives on dating. Understanding how the other side views things can give you a fresh lens to navigate your own dating life. Plus, I’ve included a few fun (and thought-provoking) questions along the way to get you reflecting on your own thoughts and experiences. Are you ready? Let’s dive in!
