Join The Fight Against Modern Day Slavery In Kansas City & Beyond

In 2012, my perspective on the world was turned upside down—not through a dramatic event, but by the harsh realization that slavery still exists in our world today. At that time, I attended an alternative spring break program for college students called Passion, where I learned about the scale and impact of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. Up until that point, I had naively thought slavery was something of the past, something "we fixed" a long time ago. But I was wrong. Slavery is still happening today, and it affects millions of people across the globe—even right in our own communities.

Since then, my mission has been to raise awareness and take action. In 2014, I became an ambassador with Shared Hope International, and my journey into the fight against modern-day slavery began. But I know this is heavy. You might be thinking, "This is so overwhelming! What can I possibly do to help? Where do I even start?"

You're not alone in feeling that way. But the truth is, every little action counts. Whether it’s educating yourself, supporting organizations, or changing the way you consume products, YOU can make a difference. And I'm here to help you find practical ways to take action—starting right here, in Kansas City and beyond.

We can’t do everything, but we can do something. And that something can be the spark that ignites real change.

Stay Involved, Stay Educated

The fight against modern-day slavery is ongoing, and it's one we all need to be a part of. Together, we can make a world of difference—one step at a time.
