"I have nothing to wear!"
How many times have you heard someone say this or have said this yourself? Even if you have a whole bunch of clothes you may still struggle to find something to wear. This may be because you may have too many trendy pieces or random pieces of clothing and not enough basics.
When choosing your wardrobe staples, keep in mind to pick timeless and versatile pieces. Avoid trendy pieces and those that have "a lot" going on. The more basic and timeless, the better and more looks you can create with minimal pieces.

1. A Black & White Fitted T-Shirt
Having a few fitted t-shirts can offer a multitude of outfit options all year long. A must for everyone is to have at least a white and black t-shirt and then add other colors from there that go with your wardrobe. I would also include both sleeveless options for spring and summer and long sleeve options for the fall and winter months.
Style Tip: Choose a neckline that best accentuates your face shape. See the chart below to find which necklines best suit you.
2. A Classic, Fitted White Button-Down Shirt
A classic, white button-down shirt adds polish to any outfit and can be worn and accessorized in numerous ways.
3. A Classic, Fitted Black Dress
Everyone knows about this classic staple. Choose a dress that you can wear from day to night for any occasion and that will surpass any current trends. Opt for a simple fabric. Nothing that is too embellished or has "too much" going on and a dress that isn't too short. A length right above the knee is flattering and not too revealing.
Style Tip: Choose a classic black dress that accentuates your best features. If you want to show off your arms go for a sleeveless style, if you want to accentuate or give the illusion of an hourglass shape, opt for an A-line skirt, or if you want to draw attention away from your arms choose a long sleeve dress, etc.

3. A Classic, Fitted Black Blazer
From the office to a night out, a classic blazer is a versatile piece to have in any wardrobe.
Style Tip: Go for a blazer that comes in at the waist to define or create the illusion of an hourglass shape.
5. A Classic, Fitted Leather Jacket
You can choose a style that best reflects your own but a classic fitted leather jacket is a great way to layer and add some personality to an outfit.
6. A Classic, Medium or Dark Wash, Fitted Denim Jacket
A nice jean jacket is a casual piece that adds versatility to your wardrobe and can be worn throughout the year in all seasons.
7. Medium or Dark Wash, Straight-Leg Jeans
Like many of the items on this list, a pair of jeans are a must-have because they are perfect to both dress up or dress down.
Style Tip: Straight leg jeans are a great cut that look good on all body types.
8. Classic, Black Straight-Leg Pants
Class black pants are another piece you can wear to work or just out and about.
Style Tip: Straight leg pants are a great cut that look good on all body types.
9. A Classic, Fitted Neutral Pencil Skirt
A pencil skirt is a great way to add a touch of femininity to any outfit. You can create a more casual look by pairing a pencil skirt with a graphic t-shirt or more formal by pairing it with a blouse. Pencil skirts are one of my favorite pieces because I like accentuating my waist and a favorite way of doing this is adding a waist belt to a pencil skirt. When choosing a pencil skirt a great length to choose is knee-length.
10. A Pair of Black & Nude Heels
A great pair of pumps, in nude and in black, are a must-have for women. I would also have the spring-summer equivalent of
Style Tip: When looking at heels, I prefer a pointed toe heel because it lengthens your body making you look taller and slimmer compared to square-toed shoes that can break up that "line" and stunt your height.
